PLEX Solutions’ CTO, Terry Bradley recently presented at ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX) North America to kick-off U.S. National Cyber Security Awareness month at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, DC.
Terry’s talk, “Teaching Small-Medium Businesses (SMBs) to Think Like an Attacker,” helped attendees understand how to use techniques from the NIST Cybersecurity Framework create risk scenarios as a basis for an assessment, and link these to their effects on business goals which assists in the prioritization of recovery plans. As usual, his presentation included a live demo of actual PLEX penetration testing techniques that left the audience wondering how these techniques would play out within their own organizations.
This year’s CSX North America event offered seven educational pathways, designed for an essential/practical and an advanced level of cyber security practitioners and managers. These pathways aligned to the U.S. Government’s NIST framework for Cybersecurity preparedness and relate to specific topic areas.
